This is an aluminium thermometer that is only for use on the flue, it is not designed for use on the stove top. It has a stay cool fold away handle and attaches magnetically to the flue, or if you have stainless, there is a small screw to fix it with.

Chimney Temperature monitor
Designed primarily for the Thatched market, this sophisticated, yet easy to use monitoring system provides a two stage early warning of high temperatures arising within the brickwork of the chimney stack which could be the cause of a fire if left unchecked.
Thatch can catch fire at around 200 deg C so this system lets you know when the brickwork near the thatch reaches firstly, 150 deg C, and then again, with more urgency, at 180 deg C.
The system can be linked to your alarm system, an auto- dialer and to more than one chimney.
