Bio Ethanol Fires

Welcome to the new world of Bio Ethanol fires:

We sell bio-ethanol in 5 litre bottles, 20 litres for £47.50 (collected): contact us for full details.

These are NOT gel fires. They are fueled by liquid bio ethanol which results in a much more effective flame pattern and about 3.6 Kw of heat.

Due to the limitations of this web template the photographs of these stoves are on a separate page. Please click here to get the photos page open in a new window.

On the photo page you will be able to view the whole collection of fires covering floor standing, wall mounted, and exterior use fires all of which are fueled by bio ethanol.  Bio ethanol is an alcohol that has been made from, primarily, sugar beet. It is a CARBON NEUTRAL heat source and gives off no harmful fumes, soot or smells. It is so clean that the fires are intended for use without a chimney.  Because of this versatility it means they can be used where normal fires or stoves either cannot be used or where it would be costly or disruptive to get either a gas supply  or a chimney installed.

There are no installation costs!

If you have a conservatory then they are the ideal choice (no need for any holes to be made in roof panels!)

Small extensions, where no heating has been provided, would benefit, or just have them as a top up for central heating.

But best of all.... make a style statement!

There are various options on some of these fires. The standard burner is a double skinned stainless steel container with a filling hole and burner slot. This can be upgraded to a burner with a built in carbon dioxide/carbon monoxide detector and battery operated ignition. The next upgrade is to the "Graviclean" system. This is a 5 litre container that fits within the frame of the fire giving up to 20 hours of fire from one filling. It has an integral CO2/CO monitor and battery powered on/off but you still light it manually. And finally, the latest advance is with the Bio Motion burner. This one has built in spark ignition, CO2/ CO monitor, tip sensor in case it gets knocked over, and electronic control knob setting of flame height. These options are not available on all the models due to the space required to fit the units.

The fires are manufactured in France, in Toulouse, by PTA Industries, under the names Direct Cheminee and Cosihome.  PTA Industries are heavily involved in the aerospace and medical industries and are used to manufacturing to the highest standards.

The fires have also been tested by the UK testing company Gastec at CRE, who test all types of fires from gas to woodburning stoves for safety and performance. Their report is available on request. Where required the fires have a highly efficient insulation material to prevent heat transfer to the wall or floor.

All the fires come with a 2.5 litre container for decanting the fuel, a fire guard, a tool to open/close the flame cover, a long lighter, a battery operated pump to transfer the fuel and a fire extinguisher.

The running costs equate to about 90p per hour. One tank full should last between 6 to 8 hours.

NEW RANGE FROM THE USA:

Newly imported into the UK by ourselves, these log sets are remarkably realistic.  The detailing on the ceramics is so life like they can easily be mistaken for the real thing. They are designed to be used within an existing square fireplace opening, and come in two sizes, 18" and 24" widths. It is recommended that the flue retains at least a small vent, although bio ethanol generally doesn't require a flue.

They are not designed as a primary heating source, although they do generate a substantial amount of heat. Their attractiveness comes in the flame picture and ease of use, combined with the lack of soot and ash to clear away.
